By means of L.N. 181 of 2018 entitled IMMOVABLE PROPERTY (ACQUISITION BY NON-RESIDENTS) ACT (CAP. 246), Southridge in Mellieħa has been designated as a Special Designated Area. Thus Southridge, Mellieħa will be added to the List of Scheduled Zones in the First Schedule to the said Act. This means that foreigners including third country nationals will be able to buy properties in this area without any restrictions and without requiring an AIP permit.
